Combining scientific expertise with writing that informs and inspires
I’m a neuroscientist with a degree and a doctorate (PhD equivalent) in Psychology. I completed my doctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig, Germany, and later worked as a PostDoc at the University of Marburg, Germany. In 2015, I started a position in science management at the University of Gießen, Germany, before moving to Chile to become a professor of Psychology.
After many years in academia and several burnouts, I realized I wanted to do science differently. So in 2025, I left my position to build my own business and share neuroscience with people outside the ivory tower.
Today, I help people apply psychological and neuroscientific insights to their everyday lives and work. My mission is simple: make brain science practical, engaging, and accessible to everyone. I write under my own name and also ghostwrite for others, combining scientific depth with clear, relatable storytelling.
If you’re curious about my research background, you can find my scientific publications here (note that I publish under the name “Garrido-Vásquez”).
When I’m not writing or creating, you’ll most likely find me in my garden, cuddling my cats, or spending time with my family.
